Growing up on the south side, I took up mountain bike racing and suffered multiple falls. The accumulated accidents placed significant strain on my low back causing disc damage with nervous system interference. The pain worsened in my early 20's and I could not spend much time on my feet before I suffered excruciating back pain. At the time, I thought that back pain was only for geriatrics and not fit young people like myself. It became harder to hold down a job as I was always taking time off work due to the back pain and lack of mobility constantly needing crutches to get around. I tried medicine, massage and other mobilities with little sustainable relief.
It was suggested I try Chiropractic care, I was skeptical at first as I did not think that Chiropractic would be the answer, convinced that I would be having back surgery. With limited options, I decided to give it a go and see if it would help? The Chiropractor performed a thorough examination, had X-rays taken and educated me about the damage that was present and what my options for treatment were. He suggested a trial course of care and within a short period of time the back pain began to subside. As the pain decreased, the movement in my back improved and I was able to start exercising again. The Chiropractor discussed the importance of maintaining spinal alignment and core strength to minimize the chance of relapse and degeneration.
My mission was to become a Chiropractor and serve my local community. Post graduation and working in Brisbane and the Gold Coast, I co-founded Yes Chiropractic at Browns Plains in 2011 serving thousands of southside locals before founding Brady Health Chiropractic in 2024.
